Support People Living with MS and Protect Healthcare Coverage in the U.S. Senate

MS lasts a lifetime, and available treatments and supports are often unaffordable for many even with health coverage. The American Health Care Act passed by the U.S. House of Representatives would shift more of the cost of coverage and care to individuals, families and state governments, making comprehensive health coverage inaccessible and unaffordable for millions of people, and the challenges worse for people living with high-cost conditions like MS. Urge consideration of your needs—and the needs of people with MS—as the Senate considers health coverage legislation.

Support People Living with MS and Protect Healthcare Coverage in the U.S. Senate

Dear [Decision Maker],

As an MS activist and your constituent, I urge you to think about what people with MS need from public or private health insurance coverage. While improvements to the health insurance and care systems are needed, the legislation passed on May 4th by the U.S. House of Representatives would harm current and future Medicaid recipients and people with pre-existing conditions. It is a step backwards in progress toward access to the affordable and comprehensive coverage so vital to people with MS.

Please consider meaningful protections for people with chronic conditions and complex health needs, including:
- Access to Medicaid and affordable coverage
- Comprehensive coverage guaranteed by the essential health benefits
- Limits on out-of-pocket costs and
- True protections for people with pre-existing conditions.

I hope you, along with your fellow Senators, will improve access, affordability and comprehensiveness--rather than taking a step backwards.
