Participation Requirements

All cyclists must complete the following by the morning of the ride (October 3) to receive a rider number and participate:

12Be at least 12 years of age by the day of the ride.

Minors Policy: Our priority is to provide a safe ride experience for all participants. As a result, the National MS Society has instituted a policy that no one under the age of 12 will be permitted to ride in City to Shore. Click here to learn more.

Bicycle tagalongs, trailers and carriers are NOT permitted for cyclists of any age.

Long Sleeve CTS 2015EARLY MONEY TURN IN

We must receive your $400 by this date to qualify. A list of those who qualified is posted here. Shirts will be mailed in late August. Congratulations to our 2015 recipients!
 

 


How to obtain your rider number

MAIL: AUGUST 31

For us to ensure you receive your rider number in the mail prior to the ride, we must have received your waiver/safety pledge (completed during registration) and required minimum $300 donation by August 31. Numbers will be mailed after Labor Day through September 22.

Reminder: You only need to raise $300 to get your number, but aim higher. Turn in $400 by August 1 and receive a commemorative City to Shore long-sleeved T-shirt! Raise $1,000 by the day of the ride to take advantage of all the VIP Club perks!

Monday, September 21 is the last date that rider numbers will be mailed to those who qualify. If you haven’t met the $300 fundraising minimum by this date, you can pick up your rider number at your start location the morning of the ride or in our Philadelphia office (note office closure dates below).

NATIONAL MS SOCIETY, PHILADELPHIA OFFICE: After August 31

Drop off the minimum at the Society’s office to pick up your rider number (Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. only; Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. only).

Please call 1-800-445-BIKE before going to make sure someone is there to help you and that your rider number has not been mailed already. You will need to provide photo ID in the building lobby to access the office.

Our chapter's Philadelphia office will be closed on Friday, September 25 and Monday, September 28 due to the Pope's visit.

DAY OF RIDE: ON OCTOBER 3
If you do not receive your number prior to the ride, you may pick it up at your start location that morning. You will receive a money turn-in envelope in the mail prior. We must have your required minimum $300 donation and signed waiver/safety pledge at this time.

Note: Allow at least one hour for check-in prior to getting on the road. No cyclists will be permitted on the route without a rider number. Learn more

ride weekend requirements

> Helmets are required.

> Bike Inspections: To receive free bike maintenance during ride weekend, you must get your bike inspected at a sponsoring bike shop between August 22- September 30 to receive a Bike MS Inspected sticker. Learn more.

> City to Shore is a cup-free event. You must have a water bottle.

> Be courteous. Be responsible. Be safe! Click here for more information on becoming a Responsible Cyclist at City to Shore.

 

The route is fully supported; personal SAG vehicles are prohibited. Bicycle tagalongs, trailers and carriers will not be permitted per the Society’s minor policy.
