AMPYRA® Authorized Generic Version Now Available
A new authorized generic version of AMPYRA (dalfampridine) is now available from Mylan. The release comes after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit recently upheld the District Court’s decision to invalidate four AMPYRA patents. Supply of this new generic is currently available to pharmacies and can be prescribed now. Read more in this press release from Mylan.
FDA Accepts New Drug Application for Siponimod, an Oral Therapy for Secondary Progressive MS
Novartis announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration accepted their application for Siponimod and that they have arranged for an expedited review. The company anticipates this review will occur in early 2019. Read our Society news to learn more about this application and the clinical trial results.
Recommendations for Cognitive Screening and Management in MS
A group of experts convened by the National MS Society has published Recommendations for Cognitive Screening and Management in Multiple Sclerosis Care in the Multiple Sclerosis Journal. These recommendations include optimal screening, monitoring and treatment strategies, and address barriers to optimal management. They have been endorsed by the Consortium of MS Centers and the International Multiple Sclerosis Cognition Society. Read the paper now.
