Over 2,300 spirited muckers finished out the 2019 MuckFest® season with an absolutely epic MuckFest Denver event! From the unforgettable dance moves at the Start Line to the muddy sea of costumed characters, you truly embraced the muck like the champions you are.
Crash Landing, locally presented by Cigna (our largest team!), was a massive hit and we saw many of you bravely tackle your fear of heights. (You've all earned the title of "stunt double" as far as we're concerned.) The bursts of water on Shake & Quake caught more than a few of you off guard, and both Slippy Sloppy and Swing Set made for some colossal splashing. The Finish Line mud was some of the best we've seen in a while, and you all emerged from the course like creatures from a very mucky lagoon.
You joyfully conquered obstacle after obstacle and we couldn't be prouder of our Denver muck-stars. We'd like to give a very special shout-out to Cheri Devlin, who triumphed over ALL FIVE 2019 MuckFest events! Cheri, you are an inspiration.
Thanks to all the fundraisers who helped raise over $300,000 (and counting) for the National MS Society. Leading the way were the top fundraising individuals and teams, listed below, who truly went above and beyond to make this event a phenomenal success. At the front of the pack is Michael Pierce, and his incredible team Muckin’ for Michael’s Mom who together raised an astounding $26,590. Thank you, Michael, from the bottom of our mucky hearts!
Finally, we want to extend our gratitude to the 200+ incredible volunteers that came out to support the event. You could be found in every corner of the course and the MuckFestival, often getting down and dirty to lend a helping hand to our runners. Special thanks to Achieve Gymnastics, Boys Hope Girls Hope of Colorado, the Lion’s Roar team from Colorado Early Colleges, National Charity League: Elevation Chapter, The Phoenix NOCO, and Single Volunteers of Greater Denver.
We'd like to thank all the runners, volunteers, spectators, and staff who came out to support each other this weekend. You inspire us to work hard every day of the year to support people living with multiple sclerosis, and to fulfill our vision of a world free of MS.
There is still time to support the mission behind the “muck.” We've made incredible progress so far and we want to keep that momentum going after the event. Make a donation online today.
