The MuckFest 5K course is built for laughs, but it’s also designed to give runners a real feeling of accomplishment. There are muddy pits, trenches and craters that surround 18 obstacles, so there are additional physical demands associated with the event. However, the most important thing to remember is that YOU can approach the run in any way you choose.
It’s up to you whether you run the entire course like it’s the Olympics or take a more leisurely approach. In other words, do it in whatever manner suits you. No one’s timing you and there are no prizes for being first across the finish line. We won’t even make you do push-ups if you skip an obstacle, but we might put your face up on the Jumbotron or on the side of the MuckFest Blimp. (We don’t have a Jumbotron…or a blimp, so your secret is safe with us.)
How you train and for how long are dependent on you. You know best how you can handle the physical demands of running, jumping, swinging, climbing, swimming and celebrating (at the finish line and in the MuckFestival area). So, whatever your fitness level, whether you just ran a marathon or just rolled off the couch, being prepared for the run allows you to have the best MuckFest experience possible.
