The Northern California Chapter in San Francisco, CA is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator.
The position reports directly to the Vice President of Development. The candidate will work with all aspects of Volunteer Development including Recruitment and Volunteer Engagement. The candidate will serve as primary contact for all Chapter volunteers. He/She will promote volunteer opportunities through online listings, Chapter publications, Chapter programs and Chapter Website along with the responsibility for the recruitment and placement of volunteers for major events such as MS Walk and MS Bike. This position will work to develop and staff an advisory committee on volunteers whose strategic initiative includes providing leadership in discerning how volunteer involvement furthers the strategic plan of the chapter and advise the chapter on strategic planning with respect to volunteer engagement. The candidate must adhere to and follow the policies and procedures of both the National Multiple Society and the Northern California Chapter.
Bachelor Degree with three years of professional experience required with two years at a non-profit or working with volunteers preferred. This position requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, along with demonstrated initiative and motivation. Problem-Solving, Communications skills and a positive and helpful manner are essential. A positive attitude towards the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, persons with multiple sclerosis and other persons with disabilities is a must.
