Last Saturday, you and 4,500 spirited muckers made the 2019 MuckFest Philadelphia an absolutely epic event! From the insanely perfect weather (we planned that ourselves – you're welcome!) to the most glorious mud we've seen in a while, it was a day we won't soon forget.
You lucky muckers were the first to try out the new and improved Slippy Sloppy slide, which made for some truly stupendous splashing. The newly-christened Muck 'N Roll was also a big hit; and you embraced the spirit of teamwork to help each other over those crazy logs and laugh your way face-first into the muddy pool. You joyfully conquered obstacle after obstacle and we couldn't be prouder of our Philly muck-stars. Congratulations to all!
Thanks to all the fundraisers who helped raise almost $400,000 (and counting) for the National MS Society. Leading the way were the top fundraising individuals and teams, listed below, who truly went above and beyond to make this event a phenomenal success.
We'd also like to give a special shout-out to our largest teams, who turned the course into a mucky rainbow: Spaeder’s Raiders brought a burst of orange, Kath’s Kids rocked their purple, Spike’s Wolfpack cast a blue hue, and Dirty Minds Over MS owned their neon green.
We had an incredible 150 volunteers join us on Saturday to help create a safe, celebratory and meaningful event. This included nearly 30 who stayed on for the entire day. (Perhaps you saw them rockin’ their awesome yellow bandannas). A very special thanks goes to the Volunteer Captains, especially first-time captains Ed and Heather, who really decked out (or rather, ducked out) both themselves and their cart.
We'd like to thank all the runners, volunteers, spectators, and sponsors who came out to support each other this weekend. You inspire us to work hard every day of the year to support people living with multiple sclerosis, and to fulfill our vision of a world free of MS.
There is still time to support the mission behind the “muck.” We've made incredible progress so far and we want to keep that momentum going after the event. Make a donation online today.
