Over 2,600 spirited muckers made the 2019 MuckFest® Chicago an outrageously awesome event! From the many shoes that were sacrificed to the mud-suction at the start line (rest in peace, old friends) to some of the muddiest finish-line photos we've seen in a while, you embraced the muck like the champions you are.
A massive crowd watched many of you tackle your fear of heights on Crash Landing. (You've all earned the title of "stunt double" as far as we're concerned.) The bursts of water on Shake & Quake caught more than a few of you off guard, and both Slippy Sloppy and Swing Set made for some colossal splashing. But the biggest hit of all was surely this year's brand new obstacle: Muck 'N Roll! You embodied the spirit of teamwork to help each other over those crazy logs and laugh your way face-first into the muddy pool.
You joyfully conquered obstacle after obstacle and we couldn't be prouder of our Chicago muck-stars. And, love was in the air throughout the day, culminating in a muddy proposal at the finish line! (Spoiler alert: She said yes.) Congratulations to Jessica and Jimmy of Wacnik’s Warriors!
Thanks to all the fundraisers who helped raise over $350,000 (and counting) for the National MS Society. Leading the way were the top fundraising individuals and teams, listed below, who truly went above and beyond to make this event a phenomenal success.
We'd like to give a special shout-out to our top fundraising team, BriovaRx - Filthy Mudicators (67 members strong!), and our top individual fundraiser, Michael Zeglinski. We also want to extend our gratitude to the 100+ incredible volunteers that came out to support the event. Thank you all, from the bottom of our mucky hearts!
We'd like to thank all the runners, volunteers, spectators, and staff who came out to support each other this weekend. You inspire us to work hard every day of the year to support people living with multiple sclerosis, and to fulfill our vision of a world free of MS.
There is still time to support the mission behind the “muck.” We've made incredible progress so far and we want to keep that momentum going after the event. Make a donation online today.
