Tips on what you can do to raise awareness about Multiple Sclerosis

  • Make your mark against MS at nationalmssociety.org.
  • Raise awareness by wearing your orange MS wristband, purchasing orange suckers and passing them out with MS Awareness postcards (postcards available by contacting the office at 299-4136) or post an MS Awareness Poster.  Contact the Chapter if you would like to purchase wristbands for $1. All other items are free.
  • Wear orange throughout the week and encourage family, friends and coworkers to do the same.
  • Become an activist and sign up for the MS Action Network.  You will be sent a MS Action Alert when an important issue or piece of legislation calls for your immediate action.  Visit http://capwiz.com/nmss/mlm/signup/ to sign up!
  • Register for Walk MS or Bike MS.
  • Call some of your friends and organize a 3rd party event to support your local chapter; money raised will go to the chapter for local programs and services and to fund national research initiatives that will help all people living with MS.
  • Volunteer for Operation Stand Still. Curious? Contact Davishia Baldwin at davishia.baldwin@ncc.nmss.org or call 336-299-4136
  • Register for a chapter program: Visit our chapter calendar of events to register.
  • Tell five people it’s MS Awareness Week - ask them to tell five more people.
  • If you are a person with MS, put a face on MS by submitting your story to faceofms.org.
  • Forward the web site address nationalmssociety.org to 10 people in one hour to encourage them to join the movement.
  • Sign up to volunteer through your local chapter.
  • Spend one hour with someone living with MS to better understand what it means to have MS.
  • Visit nationalmssociety.org every day during MS Awareness Week for new tips and ideas.
