Why Challenge Walk MS? REGISTER

Challenge Walk MS is an endurance walking experience that tests your strength and spirit and makes an extraordinary difference in the lives of 2.3 million people living with MS worldwide. Challenge Walk MS walkers, volunteers, and donors raise millions annually so people affected by MS can live their best lives as we stop MS in its tracks, restore what's been lost and end MS forever.

How Challenge Walk MS Works

Challenge Walk MS is a multi-day, endurance walking event series, with events ranging from two to three days and spanning 30 to 50 miles. Challenge Walk MS dares us to move beyond our limits, both as individuals and as a group. It extends beyond the challenges of the training, the fundraising, and the physical stress. Challenge Walk is about great possibilities:

A minimum fundraising goal is required, and we'll be with you every step of the way with fundraising tools, training schedules, group support, and much more. Plus, with our powerful online fundraising tools in your Participant Center, we've made it easier than ever for your friends and family to contribute to your walk.

Support

Challenge Walk MS is a fully-supported event. You'll be provided with support that is nothing short of remarkable. You'll train and fundraise with help every step of the way, and we'll take care of you at the event as well. Your commitment is to walk and raise funds – our commitment is to worry about everything else. Our goal is to make your journey as fun and hassle-free as possible so that, during and after each day of physical and emotional extremes, you can relax with each other and enjoy the feelings of accomplishment and fulfillment that you have worked so hard to achieve.

You can register to walk in any Challenge Walk as an individual or as a part of a team. Each Challenge Walk has a fundraising minimum and features extraordinary support, volunteers, and experience. So, find your walk now!

On any given weekend, it's easy enough to find a walking event. So what is it about Callenge Walk MS that makes it so special? Why do teams come back year after year? How is it that signing up to change people's lives can lead to your own being changed?

It's because we're all in it together.

From the friendly competition to see who raises the most money to group training walks where we're walking side-by-side; from the volunteers who hand out ice-cold popsicles when we need them most, to the cooks who serve up the most delicious post-walk dinners; from the drivers who have our stuff, to the drivers who have our backs. We all rely on and appreciate each other, savoring the joy, the triumphs and the connections on our journey together.

No one can fully describe what it's like to participate in Challenge Walk MS—it's something you must experience for yourself.

Share your Challenge Walk MS experience by starting a team. Any group of four or more people can form a team, and there are plenty of places to find members: friends, family, your company, or your community.

Once you have registered for Challenge Walk MS, you will directly be a part of supporting the mission of the National MS Society, with access to all of the best fundraising tools for asking your networks to support you! And, don't worry: We will provide plenty of support and tips to help you be a successful fundraiser.

Testimonial
It was victory. It was emotion. Walking in, we saw a lot of the people with MS that we met during the weekend, so it was celebrating their victory more than ours – celebrating that they made it." – Loretta H., Challenge Walk MS participant

What is MS?

Multiple sclerosis is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain and between the brain and body.

Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are leading to better understanding and moving us closer to a world free of MS. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with at least two to three times more women than men being diagnosed with the disease. MS affects more than 2.3 million individuals worldwide.
