Why Walk MS?

Walk MS® brings you together with our community of passionate people to connect and raise funds to change the world for everyone affected by multiple sclerosis:

When you participate in Walk MS, you are bringing us closer to a world free of multiple sclerosis. Together, we become a powerful force. Together, we will end MS forever.

How Walk MS works:

You can register to participate in a Walk MS event as an individual or as a part of a team. Each Walk MS event is fully-accessible with one- and three-mile options and is supported by outstanding volunteers. Walk MS is also the perfect place to learn about the services and support offered by the National MS Society. Now is a great time to find a Walk MS event near you!

Once you have registered for Walk MS, you will directly be a part of supporting the mission of the National MS Society, with access to all of the best fundraising tools for asking your networks to support you! And don't worry, we will provide plenty of support and tips to help you be a successful fundraiser.

I may not be a world-class researcher, a philanthropist, or doctor giving care. But I can be inspired by others' struggles, the blessings of my own health, and bike for awareness and a cure." – Kim, Team Rock Candy Junkies

What is MS?

Multiple sclerosis is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain and between the brain and body.

Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are leading to better understanding and moving us closer to a world free of MS. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with at least two to three times more women than men being diagnosed with the disease. MS affects more than 2.3 million individuals worldwide.

The Living with MS Program

Living with MS is a National MS Society program that recognizes Walk MS participants who have been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

Anyone who has been diagnosed and participates in Walk MS can be a part of the program and receive a complimentary Living with MS T-shirt. The Living with MS program is available through all Walk MS events nationwide. Simply indicate that you have been diagnosed with MS during the registration process to participate in the Living with MS program.
