Family, friends, and fellow caring citizens,

The 2018 - 2019 cycling season continues and we hope all of you are healthy and well.

We are “Orange Crush / Team Roxie” and exist to make a focused effort to help others, make a difference for our community and the greater good. We ask for your support and assistance in helping us toward that goal.

Orange Crush / Team Roxie will be in the saddle trying to make a difference in others’ lives which are impacted deeply by debilitating diseases like Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

Orange Crush / Team Roxie is open to and welcomes anyone! Family, friends, their friends, friends we haven’t met yet, you get it, anyone who wants to be part of a team and wants to make a difference with their efforts to help make the world a better place, free of MS and have a good time while doing it!

All the teams in this ride are made up of individuals who also want to help make a difference and we are asking that you help support any of us as individuals or teams as a whole by contributing if you so choose.

As for the diseases itself, there is currently no cure for MS, the disease can be debilitating and in some cases life threating. The uncertainty of when, where and how hard an outbreak may strike makes for a stressful, uncertain future. The current treatments are unbelievably expensive (tens of thousands of dollars per year) causing financial hardship on those who have MS and their families. We need to continue working toward a cure for this disease and relegate it to the history books.

The work the MS Society is doing is going a long way in helping make this happen through direct assistance, research and development of better medicines plus furthering research into eradicating this disease. We can help them accomplish this with focused effort.

On the cycling side, we can and have been making a difference not just in our fund raising efforts to help with the areas identified above but also by a direct demonstration of a healthy lifestyle of proper nutrition, and exercise which may inspire others to do the same. Such activities can help prevent or stave off any number of abnormalities, hopefully helping us all live healthier, longer lives with an improved sense of well-being. We believe it can be done and does make a difference.

As for the upcoming MS Ride, please consider contributing to the cause should you so choose. We are hoping you will! As for the amount, it doesn’t matter but we do love seeing your name on the team’s tote board and knowing that we are working together on something good. Like riding bikes? We invite you to join our team and come ride with us!

Not your thing? Maybe not your cause? Already have enough things going on? We get that and are grateful again for your consideration.

Thank you everyone,

About MS

When you make a donation, you are changing the world for people affected by multiple sclerosis. Symptoms of MS range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are leading to better understanding and moving us closer to a world free of MS. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with at least two to three times more women than men being diagnosed with the disease. MS affects more than 2.3 million worldwide, and there is not yet a cure. Every dollar raised matters to those affected by MS. Thank you for your support.
