Bike MS: Arizona 2019

Good Times!
Good Times!

Point B Phoenix

Fun, Fitness and a Very Worthy Cause!

BIG NEWS:  There will be a "Trail Bike" (aka Mountain Bike) option this year!  See details below!

In 2004, several Point B team members shared personal connections with MS, and the firm began sponsoring the MS Society at various levels. This connection and partnership has grown into the largest sponsorship and volunteer platform for Point B and our clients. The firm supports Bike MS every year in five major cities throughout the U.S. Our local Point B teams are proud to invest their time and passion in Bike MS and the MS organization’s purpose.

We look forward to Bike MS every year because the events are well-run, the rides are memorable, and the atmosphere of the event fosters and renews meaningful relationships like no other. It’s a group effort that transcends personal accomplishment and touches the lives of the thousands of people affected by MS in our community. It’s more than a ride—it’s Bike MS.

Over the years, Point B has raised over $2 million in support of the MS Society. 2018 was the fifth year for the Phoenix bike team, and we raised over $10,000. This year we looking to do even better!

Friends, clients, family members, and friends we haven't met yet:  We'd love to have you ride or volunteer with us! Join our team! This is a great opportunity to get into biking in a non-competitive, fun environment. If you're not a rider, our great group of volunteers can never have enough help!  Contact me (Bob Brackney) if you're new to biking and would like to try a fun new challenge, or for more information on volunteering!

Even if you don't ride, your support for this great cause is very much appreciated. Every dollar matters in pursuit of our vision of A World Free of MS.

Safety First!

So, exactly how does all this work???

Routes and Distances:  See "About This Ride" link above

ATTENTION MOUNTAIN BIKERS:  For the first time in any Bike MS event, the 2019 Bike MS Arizona will feature a "trail bike" (mountain bike) option! This is great news as our base camp is 100 feet from some of the best mountain biking in the state. The course will be a lap of the Pemberton loop, or about 15 miles. If you have not joined Bike MS because you don't road bike, that excuse no longer works!

Of course the great Road Bike courses will continue, with loops of approximately 35, 55 and 100 miles. New this year, there will be a 13 mile all-blacktop loop all in the park! This is a great option for new bikers or familes who want to take it a bit easier.

Anyone can join the Point B team. The Registration fee increases as the ride gets closer.

Don't ride? We love volunteers! Register as a Volunteer - there is no fee! Come out and support our riders, we'll keep you busy - you'll be amazed at how good you'll feel supporting this important cause!

Contact David Bates (dbates@pointb.com) for information on volunteering.

There is a $250 fundraising minimum required for riders to participate in the ride. You can write a check for $250 and be done with it, or (better) you can hit up your friends and family and co-workers to support your efforts! This is a charity ride, and we encourage fundraising. The MS Society awards a super-cool "skull" jersey to riders who exceed $600.

Point B provides Point B team jerseys (to riders) and lots of beverages and snacks at our base camp. We make Bike MS a party!

Bike MS provides lots of drinks and meals (dinner Friday, breakfast, lunch and dinner Saturday, breakfast Sunday) support and rest stops along the entire route, a swag bag for every rider, Saturday evening entertainment, and more.

Base Camp is at McDowell Mountain Park near Fountain Hills. There is a central pavillion with vendor tents, team hangout tents, entertainment and food. The Point B camp is nearby, with our tents, gear and goodies.

Some Point B team members camp Friday and/or Saturday, others choose to drive in in the mornings.  The camping vibe is awesome!

We ride Saturday and/or Sunday. Different team members ride different distances, there is no requirement to ride any distance.

We welcome riders of all levels! Most of us are recreational riders, but we have a couple triatheletes too! If you are interested in riding but have never ridden any distance or have not been part of an organized ride, this is a great place to start - we will help you!

Specific routes and distances coming soon!

Jerseys jerseys jerseys! We have jerseys from the past 3 years.  If you join our team and don't have jerseys from prior years, we will set you up (assuming your size is available.)  Just ask!

About MS

When you make a donation, you are changing the world for people affected by multiple sclerosis. Symptoms of MS range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are leading to better understanding and moving us closer to a world free of MS. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with at least two to three times more women than men being diagnosed with the disease. MS affects more than 2.3 million worldwide, and there is not yet a cure. Every dollar raised matters to those affected by MS. Thank you for your support.
