Bike MS: Historic New Bern Ride 2018

Team Sozo

Team Sozo Rides strong in 2018

Our mission is to grow the awareness of MS, it’s impact to millions, and the need for aggressive research and a cure. We are a cycling team that believes tremendously in this mission and are comprised of everyday riders whose family and friends fight this disease continuously. For Lynn, Nancy, members of the Lake Norman MS Support group and for all the millions impacted, we ride for you! We will not quit our mission as this disease never quits.

Over 5 years ago, my wife Lynn was diagnosed with MS. We remember sitting in the doctor’s office and realizing we knew little about this disease and how little was said about the success of treatments or how this could be cured. Lynn connected with Jennifer Frame and the Lake Norman MS Support group and after hearing the stories and struggles within that group, we became more determined to bring awareness to others as well as the need for a cure. We initially began cycling as a way to stay fit, however during a WalkMS event in Charlotte, NC, we discovered BikeMS. As we walked that day, we continued to discuss the idea of cycling for MS and found ourselves, along with Conrad Wease from the Lake Norman support group (who rides in support of his beautiful wife Nancy) participating in Breakaway to the Beach in 2015.  From these roots we have participated in all 3 North Carolina BikeMS rides as well as other NC events.

We encourage you to join our team and ride with us to find the cure for Multiple Sclerosis.  Check out our website at www.teamsozo.org or www.teamsozocyling.com.

About MS

When you make a donation, you are changing the world for people affected by multiple sclerosis. Symptoms of MS range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are leading to better understanding and moving us closer to a world free of MS. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with at least two to three times more women than men being diagnosed with the disease. MS affects more than 2.3 million worldwide, and there is not yet a cure. Every dollar raised matters to those affected by MS. Thank you for your support.
