Imagine waking up to discover your entire world has changed. You don't know if you can get out of bed, see clearly, or even take care of your family. For many people living with MS, this is reality. Multiple sclerosis (MS) usually strikes adults between the ages of 15 and 50. It is a chronic disease of the central nervous system affecting the brain and spinal cord, causing blindness, paralysis, and loss of movement. The symptoms are vast and unpredictably bringing uncertainty to those living with the disease and the future.
We registered for the Bike MS Tour to Tanglewood Ride 2018, and have become part of the movement that will end MS forever. This year we choose to direct any funds donated to my ride toward the National MS Society’s Scholarship program here in the Carolinas. This program exists to help highly qualified students who have been diagnosed with MS or have a parent with MS achieve their academic potential and pursue full-time, postsecondary education.
The National MS Society raises funds to support scholarships, establishes award criteria and directs the evaluation of all applications. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, gender or national origin.
Sponsoring us and contributing to the National MS Society is what YOU CAN DO to help those students affected by multiple sclerosis achieve their academic goals. Any amount, no matter the size of the contribution, can get students closer to fulfilling their dreams. Thank you for your support !
