Bike MS: New York City 2018

Team Alster

Please support Team Alster in our fight to end MS

On October 21, 2018, my sone Jared and I will embark on an epic fundraising ride that is changing the lives of people affected by multiple sclerosis. By cycling 100 miles around the great NYC area, we are fueling progress toward a world free of MS.

We'd love your support as we prepare for this incredible experience.

We ride for all affected with this debilitating disease, but especially for my wife Karen Alster, who was diagnosed with MS a few years ago. This disease threatens to steal her mobility, and if you know her, you know she lives a full, vibrant, and very active life. We are determined to do whatever we can to put an end to this illness.

Please support our team today

We've set an ambitious goal because we know that with support from people like you we can get there. The money raised will help fund amazing progress in MS research, as well services that ensure people affected by MS can live their best lives.

What is MS?

Our bodies are in constant motion--moving information from the brain to the body. MS stops people from moving by attacking the myelin that protects normal nerve tissue. This damage can cause symptoms ranging from numbness and tingling in the limbs to paralysis and blindness in the most severe cases. People with MS know something about moving that most of us don’t understand - moving is not a guarantee.

Your generous donation is sincerely appreciated,

- Michael & Jared Alster & the members of Team Alster

About MS

When you make a donation, you are changing the world for people affected by multiple sclerosis. Symptoms of MS range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are leading to better understanding and moving us closer to a world free of MS. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with at least two to three times more women than men being diagnosed with the disease. MS affects more than 2.3 million worldwide, and there is not yet a cure. Every dollar raised matters to those affected by MS. Thank you for your support.
