Bike MS: City to Shore Ride 2018

Welcome to UPHS/PENN

The largest and most successful City to Shore team is looking for cyclists. Are you up for the challenge?

For 9 years running, UPHS/PENN has taken home the Largest Corporate Team award, and for the past 7 years has won the Top Fundraising Team award. In 2013, the National MS Society recognized UPHS/Penn as a Circle of Distinction Team for raising over $1 million dollars since the team’s creation in 1996. In 2016, the team broke our goal of raising a cumulative $2 million dollars. UPHS/PENN is the first team in City to Shore history to raise $2 million dollars. This year, we are looking to form a team of 400 cyclists so UPHS/PENN can fundraise over $275,000 dollars to fight MS in 2017. Come join us to celebrate our 21st anniversary!

Why are we so passionate about this? It’s because Penn Medicine and the National MS Society have a long standing partnership that benefits all those people who are affected by multiple sclerosis. The MS Society has invested over $6.2 million dollars in UPHS research since 2004, including over $1.8 million dollars in the last five years alone. UPHS receives more funding for research from the MS Society than any other Philadelphia area institution. This research is crucial to understand the complex interactions that cause MS. UPHS has researched the regulation of the autoimmune system, oxidative stress during demyelination, and methods to evaluate neuroprotective treatments throughout the optic system. Together, the MS Society and UPHS/PENN will make an impact on the MS community everywhere.

Thank You, we really appreciate your helping us fight MS.

This team is open to all employees, family, friends and the public.
