PEDAL & SWING - Gotta Cure That Thing
We (Rosi and Perry) are a husband-wife, bicycling-dancing duo, who created Pedal & Swing to fundraise for the MS Society, to ultimately create a world free of MS, in honor of Erik Meyers (our son) and all of those affected by the disease (see Pedal & Swing website at: www.GottaCureThatThing.org).
In 2016 we embarked on a 3,000-mile, 30-day journey across the US, with Perry pedaling his bicycle, Rosi driving the support vehicle, and both of us dancing with whomever we could along the way. Generous Pedal & Swing supporters donated nearly $7,000 to the MS Society in 2016. In 2017, we embarked on a 1,650-mile, 16.5-day journey around our home state of New Mexico. On day 8 of our journey we attended a fundraising dance in Ruidoso (thanks to the Ruidoso Dancers!), and at the conclusion of our journey, we attended a Pedal & Swing fundraising dance and silent auction in Albuquerque (thanks to Beth Dowling, The Freddie Chavez Foundation, local businesses, and local supporters!). Again, about $7,000 was raised for the MS Society as a result of our 2017 Pedal & Swing fundraising activity.
PEDAL & SWING 2018
This year's fundraising activities will facilitate donations to the MS Society via 2 events:
August 25 & 26 Tour los Pueblos: Rosi and Perry will actually ride TOGETHER, for 100 miles on Day 1 of this MS Society-organized event, on a TANDEM bicycle. After our ride on Day 1, and throughout Day 2, we will serve as volunteers AND solicit additional donations to the MS Society by offering cyclists and other volunteers a "Recovery Dance" on a cardboard dance floor.
October 24 - Nov 7: With Rosi in the support vehicle, and Perry on his mountain bike, we plan to Pedal & Swing halfway across New Mexico (north to south) on the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route – 431 miles, from the Colorado border (northeast of Chama, NM) to Pie Town.

Or, if you would first like to make PLEDGE-to-donate (e.g., "I will donate $5 for every partner with whom Rosi or Perry dances, after completing their 100-mile tandem bicycle ride, at the 2018 "Pedal los Pueblos" in New Mexico."), visit the Pedal & Swing website (see: www.GottaCureThatThing.org) and click the "Donations & Pledges" button.
Want to join our team?
We'd love to have you. Come ride with us and experience a ride that will change lives—including your own.
When you make a donation, you are changing the world for people affected by multiple sclerosis. Symptoms of MS range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are leading to better understanding and moving us closer to a world free of MS. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with at least two to three times more women than men being diagnosed with the disease. MS affects more than 2.3 million worldwide, and there is not yet a cure. Every dollar raised matters to those affected by MS. Thank you for your support.
