2018 BP MS 150

Direct Energy

The BP MS150 is a two-day fundraising cycling ride organized by the National MS Society and is the largest event of its kind in North America.

The two-day ride is a 180-mile journey for MS that starts in Houston and ends in Austin. Breakpoints are positioned every 8-15 miles. The ride begins Saturday morning at our private starting point. Riders follow scenic roads into Bellville for lunch and day one ends at our private camp ground, the South Forth RV Park in Giddings, TX.

On Sunday morning, there are two routes that lead to Bastrop Intermediate School for lunch. Take the Bechtel Challenge Route and enjoy the rolling terrain of Bastrop and Buescher State Parks, or bypass the parks via the Pfizer Lunch Express Route. The final leg of Day Two takes riders into Austin's "Circuit of The America's" for exciting finish line festivities.

Our Direct Energy team raised over $50,000 last year and more than $950,000 in our decade long involvement with this event.  This year, our goal is to surpass the $1,000,000 milestone, and you can be part of this effort!

Every rider will be required to meet the $400 minimum fundraising requirement set by the MS Society prior to picking up your rider packet.

DE riders can participate in training rides with the Ready2Roll program. More information on how to register and the costs involved to follow!

Team Benefits include:

  • Direct Energy Team Jersey.
  • Private start on Saturday Morning.  Your cars are safe to be left there overnight on Saturday.
  • Private campground away from the main campground in La Grange.  This includes private bathrooms/showers, washer/dryers, pool and hot tub, and an indoor lounge.
  • Catered dinner and refreshments on Saturday night at our private campsite.
  • No lines. Getting out of the campsite in La Grange on Sunday is a cluster. It usually takes an extra hour to wait for 10,000 riders to get going in the morning. We have no lines.
  • Team tent at the finish line in Austin (Circuit of The Americas) where you can hang out until our trasportation leaves – refreshments, beer and pizza will be provided.
  • Private bus back to Houston and transport of your bike in a truck packed by professional movers.

For Non-Direct Energy Riders:

The non-DE employee team fee is $100. This helps cover the cost of jerseys and all the other perks that the team provides for you.
