Team Erica was started in 2003, one year before five and a half year old Erica Bailey Booker passed away from complications with MS. Our first team had nine members who raised just over $7,500. Team Erica has continued on with the fight against MS, eventually growing to as many as 204 team members. We have maintained ourselves as one of the largest teams in the Bike MS Tour to Tanglewood event for many years now, raising an amazing amount of donations for the National MS Society, all to help put an end to MS.
In 2018, Team Erica will continue to reach past our previous team life time fund raising goal of $1 million. None of this could have been achieved without the awesome support of our incredible team members and our gracious team sponsors. We will continue to promote the team and bring awareness to the cause, raising money to support finding a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.
Multiple sclerosis is an unpredictable, often disabling, disease of the central nervous system that interrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. Millions of people are affected by MS and the challenges of living with its unpredictable symptoms, which range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are moving us closer to a world free of MS.
