MS Bay Race
The 31st annual Upper Township Beach Patrol MS Bay Race was held Monday, July 31 in Strathmere, NJ. The event consisted of a 7-mile doubles row and a 4-mile paddleboard race through the intracoastal waters. Participants first raced to Sea Isle City, then headed in the other direction to Southern Ocean City, before hurrying back to the finish line at the Deauville Inn. Forty-seven doubles crews, 48 paddlers, 2 surf skis, and 1 coastal rowing single registered, resulting in their biggest attendance and fundraising year yet! Chief Bill Handley and his team of supporters raised $6,175!
Wagon Train for MS
After her daughter's diagnosis, Donna Doneth knew she needed to get involved and do everything she could to support her daughter and all those impacted by MS. Donna and her husband raise draft horses and decided to utilize them for a DIY fundraiser – Wagon Train for MS. The event included a ride from their local fairgrounds to a local park in their home state of Michigan, silent auction and lunch at finish. Each year the event continues to grow, raising a record $12,000 in 2023, bringing their five-year total to nearly $38,000!
Kris Ruhling Believe Baltimore Golf Event
Kris Ruhling of Maryland hosted his first golf tournament inspired by his dad’s MS diagnosis. He brought together friends, family, and members of the Baltimore Orioles 1983 World Series team for a day of golf, reminiscing, and fundraising. Together, they raised awareness, honored Kris’s dad, and raised over $5,700 on behalf of the National MS Society!
